In the series Desseins Eternels I also adhere to the rules of the game that emerge from the paint and the act of painting itself. Underneath that game there is a force field that impels connection. The choices and positioning arise from the paint, brush, size and what is at hands. In the dialogue with the matter I try to listen, to follow. It is in the surrender to ‘not knowing’ that the force of that field is felt. In Messiaen's music I feel the same formative power at work.
